WRITING AN INCIDENT REPORT An incident is an unexpected event that often involves an accident or an injury. The injured person may be an employee, a family member, a client or yourself. An incident report should include:
The date and time of the incident
The mental and physical condition of the person involved
The result of the incident (scratch, broken bone, back injury)
Actions taken to help the person involved
Suggestions for change so the incident does not occur again
Needs
Needs are a basic part of the human make-up; a state of felt-deprivation for things like food, clothing, shelter, warmth and safety.
Wants
Wants are what customers see as satisfying their needs. For example, I need food but I want aburger, not soup.
Demands
Demands are when customers attach knowledge, culture and buying power (wealth) to wants. This is where “brands” come in to play. For example, I need food but I want a burger, not soup, and it must be a McDonald’s Big Mac.
Tips to promote bladder and urinary tract health:
Go to the toilet regularly: Urinate on a regular schedule, such as every hour. Slowly, extend the amount of time between toilet trips.
Maintain a healthy weight: Lose excess pounds.
Don't smoke: If using tobacco products, ask a doctor to help quit.
Do Kegel exercises: To exercise the pelvic floor muscles (Kegel exercises), squeeze the muscles one uses to stop passing gas. Do this for three seconds at a time, and then relax for a count of three. Work up to doing the exercise 10 to 15 times in a row, at least three times a day.
Avoid bladder irritants: Caffeine, acidic foods, alcohol and carbonated beverages can make incontinence worse.
Avoid constipation: Eat more fiber and take other steps to avoid constipation, which can worsen incontinence.
